Here’s the deal:
Outline InterIors is looking for an enthusiastic, and self-driven Design Assistant to join and support our talented team and Principal Designer! This role comes with the rare opportunity to be at the forefront of a rapidly growing interior design firm that has a culture we like to describe as the opposite of The Devil Wears Prada. This position is imperative to the success and smooth execution of our projects, and your happiness at our firm matters as much as our lovely Clients do. We are a small team that executes BIG projects in a highly supportive and fun-loving (sometimes goofy) environment. This is an Attitude-Free Zone where we work hard, play hard, and together maintain the highest of standards in our work product. At OI we invest heavily in our people and their success so there is plenty of room for upward mobility.
Our team consists of A-players only. You must be capable of executing projects independently, managing high-profile clients and vendor relationships with the utmost professionalism and patience, and be a wizard at problem solving and trouble-shooting complex design issues with ease and grace. You must have at least 2-3 years of experience working on or leading large scale high-end residential projects and be an Auto-Cad and Photoshop Guru. Advanced proficiency in design planning tools such as Sketchup, Revit, 3D renderings, and impeccable client relationship skills are also required.
All in a day's work:
Attend site visits, measures, vendor visits, sourcing outings, and Client meetings
Source product, materials, and finishes that are in line with Project aesthetic, budget, and timeline parameters
Obtain estimates from vendors and create Client Proposal Packages
Coordinate order placement from time of purchase to delivery
Manage any issues with damaged deliveries
Maintain Materials Library and return vendor samples
Manage Client inventory at storage facility
Drafting floor plans, furniture layouts, and elevations
Creation of Client presentations, renderings, and budgets
Overseeing Project installations
Assist with Marketing packages and materials
Maintain and order office supplies
Maintain office cleanliness

Our success and work product is highly dependent upon insanely accurate notes, measurements, and date entry for order placements and deliveries.
Nothing excites you more than keeping your to-do list crossed off each day. When it comes to tracking things down, you do so with persistent vigor. You don’t just follow up by email, you call, text and even show up in person when you have to! When it comes to holding vendors accountable for late, missing, or damaged shipments you have an uncanny ability to work with people and reconcile the situation with grace, but sometimes pull out your “velvet hammer” when needed.
Driven and Self-Motivated:
You are open and willing to receive direction and are able to run with that to complete your given tasks. You don’t require hand-holding or micro-managing (because ain’t nobody got time for that). You are motivated to do your job to the best of your ability, and go above and beyond when needed.
You get joy from making contributions and significantly impacting the firm and those around you. You know that creating a beautiful, glamorous space sometimes isn’t always a beautiful, glamorous process – and that’s okay! Simply put - you work hard, get things done and love doing what you do with a smile.
Ok… so yes, we do have to drive home the boring resume requirements…
2-3+ years of professional interior design experience
Exceptional Auto CAD, and Adobe Photoshop skills
Exceptional 2D and 3D Drafting and Rendering skills in tools like Sketchup and/or Revit
Exceptional attention to detail
Exceptional Microsoft Office skills
Deep knowledge of Trade resources and strong contractor / vendor relationships
Professional communication skills (both with Vendors and Clients)
Exceptional Client and Project management skills
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple design projects simultaneously
Must be a team player and willing to chip in when needed
Ability to express your ideas clearly, while also being able to take direction and feedback
